Pebbles, also known, as Perri Arlette McKissack (b. August 29, 1964 in Oakland, CA) is an R&B singer, songwriter, music producer, and minister. She is the cousin of R&B singer Cherrelle. She began her music career by singing background vocals for Con Funk Shun and Bill Summers at the age of 16 in 1981. Pebbles recorded and released her first self-titled album in 1987 which featured the hits Girlfriend, Mercedes Boy, and Take Your Time. Pebbles formed her music production company Pebbitone Inc. and also her own record label Savvy Records in Atlanta, Georgia two years later. She released her second album Always the following which features the hits Giving You The Benefit, Backyard (featuring Salt-N-Pepa), Always, a duet with Cherrelle and Johnny Gill, and Love Makes Things Happen with Babyface. Pebbles became manager of the girl group TLC which was signed to LaFace Records in 1991. TLC is best known for their hits Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg, Waterfalls, Baby, Baby, Baby, What About Your Friends, Creep, and No Scrubs. In 1997, Pebbles became an ordained minister known as Sister Perri. She released her first gospel album Prophetic Flows Vol. I & II which made #12 on the US Gospel charts in 2008. Pebbles a.k.a Sister Perri is currently a minister preaching and singing the word to thousands of people across the nation.
