Distinguished by Maverick Magazine as a "A Lady of Conviction", Canadian, Folk singer songwriter, Phyllis Sinclair has earned national and international attention for her songs of truth and triumph. Canada's premium Folk, Roots and World Beat magazine, Penguin Eggs described her song North Coast Fisher Wife's Prayer as "positively impressive". Her second album, Fathomless Tales from Leviathan's Hole, earned her a Canadian Aboriginal Music Award nomination for Best Folk Acoustic Album. From this album her song, The Manicure , was selected by Musicians with a Cause to be included in their "More Life in the Years" CD compilation. Her song was selected out of over 350,000 entries world wide. In 2011 she released her third album "Dreams of the Washerwomen". This album was selected by Radio Canada International's Brazilian sector as a best new recording by a Canadian artist in 2011. It also earned her a Best Folk Acoustic Album Award by the 2011 CAMA Awards. Phyllis was nominated as Female Entertainer of the Year by the 2012 Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards for her extensive national and international tours! Born on the sub-arctic shores of Hudson's Bay, Phyllis Sinclair writes with make-you-think lyrics set to a classic folk vibe. Some songs definitely touch on tough subjects, but are written with deep sensitivity. The late Ron Hynes said of her songs after hearing her in St. John's "good work", and that about sums it up! A professional performer who gives from the heart.

Saw the news this morning, heard the tribal beat

Saw people holding placards, tired of deceit

Another line to take away a dream we built our lives for What’s more
Politicians and their writers, spin another take

Refuse to see the ruin ahead for the dollars they might make
What good is the water, lay waste by profits knife?

What good the air, the trees, the land if they cannot give us life?

And, as sure as the sun shines, as sure as the grass grows, And the rivers flow
I’ll be there beside you, pulsing through your veins you’ll feel my heart you know
Time has come to recognize deceptions of the past

Seek truth and stand together, at last

Silent misconceptions blur and separate,

Turn open words to whispers, answers fade away

Hope and understanding hide under the floor

What for?

Hidden legislation buried for the cost,

Of billion dollar back room deals that profit from our loss What good is tomorrow if born to die in waste?
Is trust just an illusion, is a promise a mistake?

And, as sure as the sun shines, as sure as the grass grows, and the rivers flow
I’ll be there beside you, pulsing through your veins you’ll feel my heart you know
Time has come to recognize deceptions of the past

Seek truth and stand together, at last

Sure as the sun, sure as the trees, and the rivers flow free I’ll be there, I’ll be there, you can count on me
I’ll be with you when we stand together at last

And, as sure as the sun shines, as sure as the grass grows, and the rivers flow
I’ll be there beside you, pulsing through your veins you’ll feel my heart you know
Time has come to recognize deceptions of the past

Seek truth and stand together, at last
