Old Mrs. Spicker Spacker

Was a funny old maid?

She grumbled at everything

that creation has made.

She grumbled at the dog

And she grumbled at the cat

And she grumbled at the horse

Because he was too fat.

She grumbled at the cow

Because he was too lean

And she grumbled at the milk

Because she like Ice Cream.

She grumbled at the ice cream

Because it was too sour

And she grumbled at the milk

Because it was too lean.

She just wanted it in-between.

She grumbled at the house

For it was too small

She grumbled at the rooms

because they were too large.

So she had to sit and suck her thumb.

She grumbled at the preacher

Because he was bald

And she grumbled at the sexton

Because he had too much hair

And she said, "I don't believe that this is just fair."

She grumbled at them 

When they kept still

And didn't sing at all

And she grumbled at them

when they sang 

And they didn't give her a call.

She grumbled at the knives

And she grumbled at the spoons

She grumbled at the plates

And the old rack-coons.

She grumbled at the heat

And she grumbled at the cold

She grumbled at the weather man

Because he was too bold.

So she grumbled

And she grumbled

Till all were sick

And the whole town

Put up a great kick.

So old Mrs. Spicker-Spacker

Took sick and died

And she grumbled

Because she had a free ride.

And she went where all the grumblers go.
