States and Capitals

States & Capitals is an American rock band from Wyckoff, New Jersey, formed in 2015. The band was founded by 22-year old frontman, singer/songwriter Richie Arthur (Richard Arthur Schaafsma). After taking a year and a half hiatus from the early EP releases, the group released the single, “Drive”, on August 4, 2017. The song premiered in Spotify’s “It's ALT Good!” and “The Scene” playlists, attracting a fresh audience to the single. The song eventually led up to the release of the EP, “CREATIONS&MEMORIES” on June 15, 2018. The EP was recorded in Nashville, Tennessee with producer, Jonathan Roye (Owl City, Kelsea Ballerini, Forever The Sickest Kids). The band set out on the two-leg “CREATIONS&MEMORIES Tour”, beginning in Los Angeles, CA on March 7, 2018. The tour went all throughout the USA, including slots on Vans Warped Tour and Southwest Invasion, which ended on August 12, 2018, at House of Blues Anaheim. In December 2018 through March 2019, Arthur embarked on “The West Coast Tour” and “The East Coast Tour”, playing acoustic sets throughout California and parts of the east coast. On April 26, 2019, the band posted a series of clips on social media titled ‘5319’, leading up to the release of the single, “FEELINGS” on May 3, 2019. It is the first single off of Arthur’s self-produced debut-album, set to release July 2019.
