JAIS was born in Bakersfield, California as Jason Sutton. At the early age of 3, he was put up for adoption due to his mother’s drug addiction but had no memory of this. He excelled very well in school especially in creative writing due to his God given imagination and creativity. During his early years he endured a lot of mental and physical abuse in which he turned to music such as R&B and sports as an outlet and started studying and writing songs in elementary. At the age of 15, he was told by his parents that he was adopted and that they had lied to him all these years in order to protect him and that the only reason they informed him of this was because he had a biological brother who he knew who was shot and killed due to gang violence. For the next 2 years, Jaise suffered identity issues but always found himself through music. At the age of 17 he reunited with his biological mother and other family members. After graduating High School, he moved to Visalia, California and attended Junior College at The College of Sequoias to pursue Track & Field after being ineligible for full ride scholarships. He attended for 1 year then dropped out of school to pursue music. At the age of 19, he pursued a rap career under the alias “Jay Da NDon” in which he gained interests from A&R’s from Capitol Records but then later found out they were looking for the next “Drake sounding” artist and JAIS refused to conform. At the age of 23, He took a break from music and started working various jobs. 3 years later, after witnessing the success of underground sensation and friend Gia Medley of Inglewood, Ca who gained a large buzz from doing rap remixes on World Star Hip Hop and YouTube, JAIS was inspired to once again pursue music, but this time, try to pursue R&B sound and use it in a way to express himself and past emotions that he had once felt. The same year he teamed up with a previous producer whom he worked with in the past by the name of Jay GP Bangz and together they decided to collaborate. JAIS is eager to share his story through his passion in music, and give his supporters an outlet, the same outlet that music has given him through every rough moment in his life.
