The song is produced by English musician, composer and record producer Tim Simenon. The single does not appear on any of O'Connor's studio albums, but was included on her compilation album, So Far... The Best Of in 1997. "You Made Me the Thief of Your Heart" peaked at number 4 in Ireland, number 19 in Finland and number 42 in the UK. On the Eurochart Hot 100, it peaked at number 43.
