The song was recorded for Astley's fourth album, Body & Soul. It was released as the album's second and final single. The single peaked at number 33 in the UK charts. It peaked at number 28 in the US and at number three in Canada. It is still a recurrent play on most North America hot AC stations. Astley retired shortly afterwards the release, making "Hopelessly" the last single he would release until 2001.  more »
