"Jungle Man" is a song by the American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers 1985 album, Freaky Styley. It was released as a 12" promo sampler. A music video released around the same time of the album's release on August 16, 1985. Singer Anthony Kiedis wrote the lyrics because the track reminded him of his best friend, the band's bassist Flea. "Jungle Man" has not been performed live since 1988, on the band's final tour with Hillel Slovak and Jack Irons. On October 19, 2011, the band teased a full performance but did not play the entire song. Jason Birchmeier of AllMusic considered "Jungle Man" to be one of the highlights from the album. more »
