New York Electric Piano

New York Electric Piano (NYEP) (founded in 2003) is an American jazz band created by keyboardist and composer Pat Daugherty. The band started as a trio, with Aaron Comess (of Spin Doctors) playing drums, and Tim Givens on the acoustic bass. For later albums, they expanded their ensemble up to six and then eight musicians. Their sixth album, Keys to the City, spent a month in the top ten of CMJ's Jazz Chart. The band has received extensive radio airplay on both jazz and alternative stations and accolades from various jazz critics and publications.
