The Cats & the Fiddle was a vocal harmony group formed in the late 1930s. They were known for their tight harmonies and unique style that blended swing, jazz, and rhythm and blues. The group consisted of Austin Powell, Ernie Price, Chuck Barksdale, and Jimmy Henderson. They had several popular recordings during their active years, including "I Miss You So" and "I'd Rather Drink Muddy Water."
