"Emergency on Planet Earth" is the fourth and final single released from British funk/acid jazz band Jamiroquai's debut studio album, of the same name. The song was written by Jay Kay, and has a very environmentalist tone, urging the listener to "stop modernisation going on." The track peaked at #14 on the UK Singles Chart, and at #4 on the U. S. Dance Chart. A remix of the song, which uses a completely different bass track and intro, and includes some changes in the arrangements, was featured on the single, and in the music video for the song. Jamiroquai

Jamiroquai i/dʒəˈmɪrəkwaɪ/ are a British jazz funk and acid jazz band formed in 1992. Fronted by lead singer Jay Kay, Jamiroquai were initially the most prominent component in the early-1990s London-based acid jazz movement, alongside groups such as Incognito, the James Taylor Quartet, and the Brand New Heavies. Subsequent albums have explored other musical directions such as pop, rock and electronica. Their best known track is "Virtual Insanity", which won four awards at the 1997 MTV Video Music Awards.
