About The Worrying Kind

"The Worrying Kind" is a rock song performed by The Ark, written and composed by Ola Salo. It was released as the second single of their fourth album, Prayer for the Weekend. On March 10, 2007 the song won Melodifestivalen 2007 and therefore became Sweden's Eurovision Song Contest 2007 entry. The song won both the jury and public vote. The song includes the lyric "just a mortal with potential of a superman", taken from the 1971 David Bowie song "Quicksand". Similarities have also been drawn with the 1970 Edison Lighthouse one-hit-wonder "Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes)". The song was directly qualified for the Final of Eurovision Song Contest in Finland on the 12th of May due to Carola Häggkvist's fifth-place finish in the 2006 contest. In the finals, the song received 51 points and finished 18th of 24 finalists. It received votes from six countries: 12 points from Denmark and Norway, 10 from Iceland, 8 from Finland, 7 from the United Kingdom, 2 from Andorra, and 0 from the other 35 countries.

Moves, I like to make them
Grooves, I like to shake them
Shake me from my troublesome mind

Cause sometimes you'll find
That I'm out of my mind
You see baby, I'm the worrying kind

Words, I like to break 'em
Words I'd like to shake 'em
Shake them from my troublesome mind

And you turn up your nose
It's a joke you suppose
But baby, I'm the worrying kind

So if you see me somewhere
With that glassy ol' stare
And the panic and fear in my eyes
Don't call for first aid or the fire brigade
Or the local police cause they won't care
I'm just a silly old boy with my head in the can
I'm just a mortal with potential of a superman
But what sense does it make
When I feel like a fake
When I'm saying to you all be good for goodness sake?

Words, I like to break 'em
Words I'd like to shake 'em
Shake them from my troublesome mind
And why? -Heaven knows, It's a joke I suppose
But baby, I'm the worryin' kind

So if you see me somewhere
With that glassy ol' stare
And the panic and fear in my eyes
Don't call for first aid or the fire brigade
Or the local police cause they won't care
I'm just silly old boy with my head in the can
I'm just a mortal with potential of a superman
But what sense does it make
When I feel like a fake
When I'm saying to you all be good for goodness sake?

Ooh! Words, I like to break 'em
Words I'd like to shake 'em
Shake them from my troublesome mind
And why? Heaven knows,
It's Gods joke I suppose
But baby, I'm the worryin' kind
And You turn up your nose
And you say it's a pose
But Baby, I'm the worryin' kind

Yeah sometimes I'm blind
I'm just out of my mind
Baby, I'm the worryin' kind

The Ark

The Ark was a Swedish glam rock band formed in 1991 by Mikael Jepson (better known as "Jepson") and Lasse ("Leari") Ljungberg, Ola Salo and Leari being only fourteen years old at the time. In 1996 The Ark released an EP featuring four songs, of those "Racing With The Rabbits" being the most known. The EP gained very little success in both critical and commercial sense. Martin Axén officially joined the band in 1997, and Sylvester Schlegel in 1999. In late 2005, Jens Andersson joined The Ark as an official member. He had at that point played live with the band for several years. more »
