"The Reason" is a song by American rock band Hoobastank, released on April 2004 as the second single from their second studio album of the same name. The song is Hoobastank's most commercially successful single, peaking at number two on the US Billboard Hot 100 behind Usher's "Burn" and number one on the US Modern Rock Tracks chart, and was nominated for Song of the Year at the 47th Grammy Awards in 2005. Internationally, "The Reason" reached number one in Italy and peaked within the top 10 in 10 other countries.

Hoobastank

Hoobastank (often stylized as h∞bastank) is an American rock band, best known for their hit "The Reason". They formed in 1994 in Agoura Hills, California, with singer Doug Robb, guitarist Dan Estrin, drummer Chris Hesse, and original bassist Markku Lappalainen. They were signed to Island Records from 2001 to 2012 and have released five albums and one extended play to date. Their fifth studio album, Fight or Flight, was released on September 11, 2012.
