Stay Up Late

Stay Up Late is a 1992 erotic furry watercolor painting by Brian Swords. It depicts two anthropomorphic rats embracing. The painting gained prominence when John Oliver offered to buy the painting in the 29 March 2020 episode of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. Stay Up Late was created in 1992 by York, Pennsylvania artist Brian Swords. It was one of several of Swords's paintings, such as The Smell of Wet Fur and Sheets and Pillowcases, that depict anthropomorphic rats, named Alice and Bob, in sexually suggestive poses. Between 1988 and 1993, Swords donated his paintings to "Gallery 33", WITF-TV's yearly auction. His pieces sold well, but the donated paintings steadily became more explicit. You're the sun that's in my eyes
When I've been driving through the night
I'm the aching in your head
When you lie awake in bed
You can't it take back
I've seen all the pictures
I think you can figure out
Which is you, who's he
Does it feel bad?
Knowing you pulled the trigger
That made these problems bigger
Now lets see how funny I can be
I'm done trying to get through
Won't waste my youth on you
You're the sun that's in my eyes
When I've been driving through the night
Tongue tied and hypnotized
I don't wanna make things right
I'm the aching in your head
When you lie awake in bed
Heart racked with regret
I could be laying there instead
Now I think its time
That you delete my line
Don't call my phone
Don't check my home
Don't wanna press rewind
You had your chance and you blew it
Now look who's looking foolish
No saving face
You seem outta place
I need my space
And you prove it
You've made your choice
You're not worth my voice
You're the sun that's in my eyes
When I've been driving through the night
Tongue tied and hypnotized
I don't wanna make things right
I'm the aching in your head
When you lie awake in bed
Heart racked with regret
I could be laying there instead
You made your choice
You had your chance and you blew it
You're not worth my voice
Now look who's looking foolish
You made your bed
You should leave mine alone
You made your bed
Your heart is made of stone
