From the womb I was birthed and to the tomb I return
A single point in time and space as the flesh that I claim turns to ashes

From the dirt floors of caves we have crawled
Into the light of the new age of man
With hope alone we built our walls
To shield ourselves from the counting of sands
No one here survives this, try as you might but you won't make it out alive
Cause no one here survives this, there's no applause at all after act five

Just eyes now sewn shut beneath the lid of a casket
Time slips by without a word of warning as we're left grasping

At severed straws, interpreting the shadows on the walls
We're carried on by the tune of the crow and it's ancient cause
It caws

So it's said there's gotta be something
Cause what's the point if there really ain't nothing at all
But we know the end is coming
When it does you'd better be ready to fall

To pieces as we slowly fall apart
And we stall for meaning behind a barely beating heart
When we fall to pieces we will be slowly picked apart
And our calls now fleeting become the cry of dying stars above

As in the sky like a mirror above us
So too it is in the coffins beneath our feet
