Collegetown

A college town or university town is a community (often a separate town or city, but in some cases a town/city neighborhood or a district) that is dominated by its university population. The university may be large, or there may be several smaller institutions such as liberal arts colleges clustered, or the residential population may be small, but college towns in all cases are so dubbed because the presence of the educational institution(s) pervades economic and social life. Many local residents may be employed by the university—which may be the largest employer in the community—many businesses cater primarily to the university, and the student population may outnumber the local population. more »

Another party reaches its precipice
I still can't be bothered to make sense of it
The look I caught you stealing from the side
I would ask your name if I had the time
I'm not that pathetic, I'm just apathetic these days
When they call for partly cloudy I'm always caught in the rain
I call you honey but it leaves a sour taste

Misery is company
And the taste of terpenes
Or you could settle for that weak, old wine
Let's cut through to the root of the conversation
Do you wanna fall in love or just see me naked
Am I just filling holes that you hate to see vacant
Or am I just jaded

You'd be pressed to find a place I'd rather less be
Than a public pool in central Tennessee
I'm not really sure if we should leave
Cause we've had a few drinks and that's when you like me
You could call it love or empathy
It all feels the same to me
I just wanna keep a little distance
There's two ways to see me different

And now the party spills outside
You sip your liquid courage and search for your stride (you gotta drive!)
Let it slip "have you been ignoring me
Or are you just that scared of something forming"
The conversation slips through the palm of my hands
And it cracks cement when it lands
You land a glance like a lightning strike
And I swear to god I feel it twice

You'd be pressed to find a place I'd rather less be
Than a public pool in central Tennessee
I'm not really sure if we should leave
Cause we've had a few drinks and that's when you like me
You could call it love or empathy
It all feels the same to me
I just wanna keep a little distance
There's two ways to see me different
