In the early morning hours, I took a stroll in the park
In the intervening time between the daylight and dark

This act of walking put me in a wonderful mood
There was no one within miles just complete solitude

And from the woods within the park emerged a figure in black
And it was stomping quickly toward me as if it sought to attack

As it grew closer I discerned it was a lady that was speaking
And through the mask upon her face I could hear her muffled shrieking

She wildly gesticulated, taking me to task
For walking in the park alone without my precious mask

She said, "i've been watching from a distance, and can't believe what I saw
Why don't you have your mask on, don't you know its the law?

I said, "I appreciate your worry and the law I respect
But I'm alone out here, there's not a soul around to infect?"

She said you might spreading virus that a mask would prevent
I said, But the survival rate is ninety nine point ninety five percent

I said these masks have microscopic holes and so it doesn't make much sense
It's like trying to stop mosquitoes with a chain link fence

She said have concern for those around you, is that so much to ask?
Do your patriotic duty and put on your fucking mask

And from the woods came others who clearly shared this woman's zeal
And through their masks I heard their muffled cries of murderer!  Surreal!

And they surrounded me demanding my submission and compliance
I said "these masks are your religion, you're not following the science!"

But they ignored my clever council and they were angry I could tell
And if you can't persuade with logic then you had better run like hell

So I took off in a sprint and they were chasing close behind me
And I jumped into a pond with the hope they couldn't find me

What happened next is obvious, you don't even have to ask
I drowned cause I neglected to wear my scuba mask
