So I've had a couple instances that left me distressed
And I've had a couple friendships that ended with a text
I've had a couple moments where I didn't behave the best
I've had the trauma so I feel like everything is a test
And I keep going and going but cannot forget the past
And yes I know that I said those who do that finish in last
You could compare the old me to politicians acting bad
Compulsive liar convincing himself his lies are a fact
I've seen some crazy things happen to me at baseball games
Of all the places things that happened there are truly insane
I've seen arrests because some people threw things at players' heads
I've seen someone fall from the stands and then wind up dead
God rest the souls of the people we've lost
Wish I had saved you but that's why the Savior died on the cross
And still somewhere along the line I think a line has been crossed
Because I think that my past actions are coming at a cost
