There's a line running along these subjects Dividing the morally acceptable From the crude and immoral Many would argue the line falls at different points So is it subjective Or do the worms crawling up from the stench of the swamp Carrying their weapons of hatred and ignorance Simply wish to mislead you into thinking that it's subjective Is the line set in stone Or just a matter of perspective A moral based on who you asked Perhaps there is no answer For surely what offends the heart of some will please the heart of others A jest can become violent Just as a strong moral code can become wicked A knight can fight for a just cause while causing injustice This has been proven time and time again So which side would you take And how strongly Is the freedom of our voices more valuable than the damage done by the ignorant Should we take away the ability to speak hatred Or would we in doing so Due to the subjectivity and nature of hatred Chain ourselves to world where we can say nothing Would we become victims of our own righteous battle But surely we must fight for what is right Immoral acts and cruelty surely must be stopped But what is right If we can't all agree Then in reality How do we know And furthermore How do we know when to stop seeking immorality in order to bring about its end Where do we draw the line So uncomfortable Where do I draw the line Existence troubling at best A truth that's undefined And praying will not stop it So choose beliefs you might Obeying will not stop it You must stand up and fight But fight for what Determine your fate The story that you write We fill ourselves with our moral standpoints And say that we are right But praying will not stop it Obeying will not stop it You must stand up and fight Take a stand Reach out a hand And hope that you are right And hope that you are right For while some perspectives are clearly hateful And serve no purpose in this world Most things are not so clean cut The more you think about it The less you know And the less you know The more you wonder Wonder if your beliefs are correct Wonder Question on my friends Think until you can think no longer This is the human dilemma The perplexing nature of our reality Even if you are unwilling to see it
