I'm sitting in the café thinking about things, watching the people walk by
I wonder where they've come from, where they're going to, and why
I let my imagination take me where it wants to go
I think about their lives and families, the life that they might know

They come and go in their private world. Their body language speaks to me
I don't really know these people, but I'm curious to know
I try a little empathy and let my feelings flow
I wonder if they wonder, about me sitting in a fish bowl

I while away an hour or so in my favorite chill-out zone
I sit in my local café sipping coffee on my own

I'm watching people passing by we're separated by a window pane
Some people look me in the eye, some look, and look away again
I take a sip of my coffee and lean back in my seat
Is my food nearly ready? I'm hungry and I want to eat
