To see if DistroKid actually listens To their artists
They probably do not
If you're wanting the actual words
Please note that this is not that

DistroKid has delayed dozens of artists' projects
From July to September
And their partner the Harry Fox Agency
Has been a vital component
Of getting thousands of cover songs
Onto streaming services
Yet when the Harry Fox Agency
Also known as the HFA
Underwent maintenance in order to launch
A new licensing system
Neither DistroKid nor HFA said anything about it

Their lack of empathy toward musicians is insulting
DistroKid has no phone number to call people
Just a chatbot that expects to be asked
One of a few hundred questions With a preloaded response
HFA has a noticeable lack of social media presence
Despite the fact they are owned by SESAC
The third-largest performing rights organization in the world

Licensing cover songs with DistroKid used to take
A maximum of fourteen business days
But now releases are being delayed by a month or more due to the maintenance,
And nobody has any idea how long
It will take to get back on schedule
It's truly heartbreaking that many artists' release schedules
Have been ruined because of this, Had we known that
They were doing this we would've pushed back our releases a few months

And the DistroKid socials are hilariously out of touch with their artists
It is a shame that every comments section
On every Instagram post is
Yo check your dms i need help
And they don't even bother
To reply to any of them
You can only reach them through the aforementioned chatbot
Which then will redirect you to the support email
Which by the way
Is a sorry excuse for email support

I hope you read this and realize
What chaos you've unleashed
The lack of a statement
Your inadequate support
It speaks volumes
Your artists are counting on you and if you don't deliver on time
We get

Very
Angry

I hope anyone reading this that is not a musician
Feels the pain
And that this company is doing "everything it can" to resolve the problem
When the root of the problem is themselves
Do better, DistroKid and HFA
