I was pleased with the words

Then I builded a box
It had hinges and locks
I made it to measure
To keep my favourite treasure

We made us some plans
For a different time
As if the years were all twisted
And on a different line
We saw a parallel place
Like a shimmering dream
We could only make it with
Some kind of time machine

So I builded a box
It had hinges and locks
It was sturdy and strong
To go on and on and on
Then I put my love inside
Soaked with all the tears I'd cried
This box of my Aimee
I hid away the key

Oo-oo on a rainy day now
I'll go and find my Steve and Aimee box
I'll find all of those memories, those secrets, smiles and tears
And I'll hope somebody reinvents the years.

Can you remember the pain?
That time when I tried
To carry you through the rain?

It's why I builded a box

A place I visit a lot
