We come from broken homes Out onto the streets Trying to find consolation Got no regulations Trouble in the streets Was just our medication Yeah, we know it's a fucked up situation Would you really understand The broken poetry of a ghetto Mexican I be out here on a mission With a pistol in my hand Where you from motherfucker Was the ghetto broken chant From the ones who wear the rag Gang banging not the plan But my route to be a man Since my father left I stand Not knowing where to go Not knowing how to grow So I lingered in the streets With a bunch of crazy teens And we share the same struggle The mission was to bubble But only found the trouble I summon from the rubble So here comes the police And they chase me to my knees Don't hurt me mister, please I'm just looking for my father 'Cause I'm sure he misses me But the sad reality Was nobody ever claimed me My uncles came to slay me My old friends come to spray me Oh, I got to get the strap I got to face the facts Nobody's got my back So I travel on the dolo I keep it moving slow mo I'm cocking back the .44 I told you that the po-po Is creeping with the choke hold And the penitentiary Seems to be the plan for me If I let these suckas breathe All over me you see And my homies all they see Is the paper stacking, cheese So they're filled with jealousy And with friends like these, you see I don't need enemies So I keep it moving, peace I keep it moving, peace I keep it moving, peace We come from broken homes Out onto the streets Trying to find consolation Got no regulations Trouble in the streets Was just our medication Yeah, we know it's a fucked up situation Just a man and his music I ain't afraid to use it They told me don't abuse it I told you don't confuse it 'Cause this ghetto poetry Is the only way for me To express and to release All the things inside of me Just in case a broken teen Is in need of some relief A little bit of peace As he travels through the streets Where the love is not for keeps Just a bunch of enemies I'm talking about police And these jealous fucking homies Let's just call them frien-emies Used to catch me on my knees Praying to my god, like please Come and save me from these thieves 'Cause they lurking all the time And they watch me on my grind Trying to catch me slipping like They're the first to drop the dime So I'm staying out of sight Left alone the life of crime I do it all official But don't get it twisted, fool I still pack the fucking pistol That's just the way it is When I handle my biz It's my childhood I miss But no time to reminisce I am on my way to make it Trying to escape the snakes Say goodbye to all the fakes That's the only way for me At least that's what I see Come correct me if I'm wrong And I'll gladly change the beat But for now I keep it moving Staying true to me Switching my maneuvering On a mission to find peace With my ghetto poetry Is the only thing I leave For the ones who love my music Here's another little piece We come from broken homes Out onto the streets Trying to find consolation Got no regulations Trouble in the streets Was just our medication Yeah, we know it's a fucked up situation
