Whip Wilson

Whip Wilson (born Roland Charles Meyers, June 16, 1911 – October 22, 1964) was an American cowboy film star of the late 1940s and into the 1950s, known for his roles in B-westerns. He was one of eight children. Wilson had been a moderately successful singer before coming to Hollywood. Following Buck Jones's death in the famous Cocoanut Grove fire of 1942, which claimed the lives of 492 people, Monogram Pictures had been searching for someone to replace him. Producer Scott R. Dunlap saw Meyers, and thought he looked similar to Jones. This, apparently, was enough to build him into a cowboy star. Well, the summer heat
Down that I-5 Road
Well, it's thrilling me
Well these local bars
They all know our code
This night this town is ours

Get ready for the Willamette Valley Twister
And I'll tell you, we're all whiskey connoisseurs
We've drank down our lakes-worth in less than one week
We've been down this road where you can't walk or speak
We're raising some hell and we're all getting down
The Willamette Valley Twister is hitting this town

Well the rain has ceased
And the Stars came out
So now were hitting the streets
The Willamette Valley Twister
Takes its natural route
But it's just a force of party nature

Get ready for the Willamette Valley Twister
And I'll tell you, we're all whiskey connoisseurs
We've drank down our lakes-worth in less than one week
We've been down this road where you can't walk or speak
We're raising some hell and we're all getting down
The Willamette Valley Twister is hitting this town

Oh yeah

And get ready for the Willamette Valley Twister
And I'll tell you, we're all whiskey connoisseurs
We've drank down our lakes-worth in less than one week
We've been down this road where you can't walk or speak
We're raising some hell and we're all getting down
The Willamette Valley Twister is hitting this town
And then we're drinking this town
Dry, that is
Aw, bring me on home, boys
