High Mileage

High Mileage is the seventh studio album by American country music artist Alan Jackson. It was released on September 1, 1998 and produced four hit singles on the Hot Country Songs charts for Jackson: "I'll Go on Loving You" (#3), "Right on the Money" (#1), "Gone Crazy" (#4) and "Little Man" (#3). Upon its release in late 1998, "I'll Go on Loving You" became the highest-debuting single of Jackson's career at the time, entering the country charts at #35.Also included here is the track "A Woman's Love", which Jackson re-recorded in 2006 for his album Like Red on a Rose. The re-recorded version on that album was released as a single in 2007, peaking at #5 that year. more »

(You're) Up so early, paining, straining
I'm trying to catch the sleep I missed last night
Meet downstairs, maybe an hour later
It may be morning though it's not so bright
The small time we are sharing with the news that we are learning
And the source of information during obscure conversations
Talking only language we know
Who knows these days are changing and we can't resist it
Downward spiral though the stairs have misfits
Now I know it's coming to an end
Short times had together, knowing coming up is always pressure
Times were never always bliss, not always ended with a kiss
Sometimes it's better far away, though it may only last a day
And there's voices in your ears, saying what you wanna hear
Talking only the language we know
Who knows these days are changing and we can't resist it
Downward spiral though the stairs have misfits
Now I know it's coming to an end
Who knows these days are changing and we can't resist it
Downward spiral though the stairs have misfits
Now I know it's coming to an end
Now I know it's coming to an end
I hope we'll always be together and
I hope we'll always be forever and
I hope we'll never be so clever that we'll never need each other again
I pray we'll always be together and
I pray we'll always be forever and
I pray we'll never be so clever that we'll never need each other again
I wish we'll always be together and
I wish we'll never be forever and
I wish we'll never be so clever that we'll never need each other again
