I miss you
Right to my bones
So I make plans to etch you into my skin
As if that'd bring you back again
I know it's a deluded thing to say
But I feel it every day
This idea that I could just talk to you
For a moment
Even if you'd have to leave again
You'd feel my sadness through the wall
And come running just to hold me as I fall
Maybe you'd fade away like the ghost that you've become
Or maybe somehow you would stay
Maybe I'd just want more
Maybe I couldn't face goodbye again
And a moment could never be enough
'Cause when I try to recall your voice
It doesn't come to me
And now it's 3AM and the videos on my phone
Are the only way I can hear you again
(Ooh ooh)
I know it's a deluded thing to say
But I feel it every day
This idea that I could just talk to you
For a moment
Even if you'd have to leave again
You'd feel my sadness through the wall
And come running just to hold me as I fall
Watching you walk ahead in the fields
Your long blonde hair flying with the wind
I wanted to catch you up
But I didn't know what I'd say if I did
Oh, I wish I did
Just to walk by your side would be enough
Don't have to think of things to say
Even though I have so much to say
The years that you've missed keep stretching out
I keep thinking back
Oh, I wish I'd caught you up
While you were somewhere I could catch you up
But the summer fields turned to autumn leaves
And I didn't see you again
Until I see you again
Oh, it's still like you're here
Until I see you again
