Consume faster than we can process Connecting together through different concepts Ideas all seeking context Feeling unfulfilled, move onto the next project Some playground bands are ripping off Pavement There's nothing left to say, just blanket statements I heard it once, won't hear it again It went over my head but it stays in my top ten Once it's all over I've still got some questions I don't think I walked away with all the right lessons "Art can be what you want it to be" But there's a fine line to twisting it to your needs Everybody wants to be sincere But irony doesn't always come off so clear Miscommunication will be the death of me Or maybe I meant it, if enough people agree But we're all growing, and so am I I'll try to explain if it comes out dry cheap imitator or a real innovator Hard when originality comes in only so many flavours How much nostalgia can be trauma? I can build up good karma if I show up in their honour If I set my mind to it, what if I succeed? How much can I say before it gets back to me? Coming back with a clear conscious Been months since I've wrote creativity's been gone since I have my art but I don't want to digest Stuck inside, trying to invent But discovery always doesn't come in tv Movies, books, though sometimes it can be clear communication is all that we need Sometimes you just have to accept that you won't always be pleased I know I can be mean, I'm a sinner Walking through life like a total beginner I won't try to state my case Sometimes things don't warrant debates Lately I can't be apologetic Won't keep you around if you don't get it I can try to teach, not to be harsh and twisted Don't be misguided, don't dilute the message We've hit the last generation There's no one left to blame But things are different, they'll never be the same It's no shame, what a time to be alive I really mean it, I hope we can survive And walk away with the rest of our pride Pretention could be the death of me But it's all in good faith, as things should be We're all growing, I'm sure we try But how much of us have the time? To walk on through with a different position Quick to speak but never to listen Go for pitchforks, myself included Sometimes we're good and sometimes it's clueless There's good intentions, the best in mind Fight the good battles but don't be afraid to climb All things said We're moving on the course
