Mm mm
I travel back to the mountains
Face you in a dream
Driving by dead flowers, would water paint them green?
The spring was screaming
Then autumn fields weren't growing
The lake, the lake was sinking
It was sinking while I was
Waiting to be, who I thought that I wanted to be
A dying breed, oh come back please, you were made for me
But I, want it back again, just wanted one more song
I felt this deep burn in me, but I stood along
I wanted the dreams, but they're gone
Oh no
They're gone
Mm mm
I took the time away from me
Who was she when I was young?
A kid with dreams much bigger
Then thinking became numb
But oh oh, I'll wait
and oh I will stay with you
I will stay with you
Oh please stay, please stay
I'm traveling alone
Back to Wisconsin, I'm all alone
Im driving through the fields we grew
where I knew you'd be
But I, want it back again, just wanted one last song
I felt this deep burn in me, but I stood along
I wanted the dreams, but they're gone
Oh they're gone
Mm mm
Oh no
Oh no no no no
I wanted the dreams, but they're gone
Oh oh
Oh no
Oh no no no no
Im driving alone, back to Wisconsin
All the fields have grown and I
Wanted the dreams, thought somewhere they were meant for me
But I'll be back again, why won't you wait for me? (why won't you wait?)
Until then, I'll sing the song, but you won't see
I wanted the dreams, but they're gone
Oh they're gone
Oh no
Mm mm
