Moments fly by, but my eyes are set on the sky
And half of the time, they fail to reach as high
It's no wonder that I, after all of this time, look back
And just can't shake the perception that thoughts in my head have a past

So instead, I'll bundle up in my bed
Waiting for what
For nothing
Or for something
Hundreds of feet underground, I sob
That these crystalline caverns aren't where I feel at home

Above the hills and over the sun are the stars
But deep underground, you never really do see
And every once in a while, a beam of sunlight gleams down
And it makes me question, is it time to wander out

And so now, I'll spring up out of my bed
Then venture forth out into the great unknown
Now I feel rather content
But things aren't quite over yet
