Have you ever seen someone sleepwalk
And I'm not talking about on TV

In real life, have you ever seen someone sleepwalking?
It's kind of scary right?

Maybe not too much if you're the actual person
I mean you kind of sleep through
The whole thing, you know?

I personally, have never been one to physically sleep walk
But spiritually sleep walk
Yeah, I am pretty familiar with that

You see there have been times
When I have just gone through the motions

Doing things for the sake of doing things
And not even really knowing

I mean, I spiritually slept through moments
That I wish I was awake for

In some hard times it would have been helpful 
To be "up" enough to realize a deeper truth
To really be there for them
To be in them with God instead of alone

Today, I want to tell you that God is asking you to fully wake up

There is an invitation to get up from being dormant in your day 
And become alive in spiritual presence

In Hebrew tradition, there was a name for God 
That was considered so holy, it could not even be said aloud

It was the four letters YH WH pronounced yah-veh 
The name sounds were derived from the verb "to be", or "to exist"
But if you listen closely to what the sounds are in the two syllables
It resembles your breath
The inhale being the "yh" the exhale being the "wh"

You can begin to picture your very breath being a prayer 
Of existing with the divine gift of life in your very lungs.
Let's begin right now by just becoming aware of our breath

Maybe,  just try moving your body around a little bit 
To get into a comfortable position.
Relax the shoulders, relax the jaw.

And inhale through your nose, filling your belly with air
And slowly release. Let's do 4 more together...
Each day, we can respect and release with the truth 
That from dust we came, and to dust we shall return

I am not trying to be a downer and have us realize that one day
Our lives will be over here
Let's see it as an invitation to be fully here

To be fully alive

Not just a warm body in the room
But an awakened soul from a dark tomb

A free spirit
Healed from past wounds

Alive

Not just a regular old believer
But a radical grace receiver

Because our eyes have been opened
By the highest healer

Alive

Not just a human that walks this earth
But a workmanship the divine knew at birth

Created to live, move, and have our very breath
And worth with his align

Alive

Taking each breath as a gift of life
Allowing praise and gratitude fighting our daily fight

We don't give up or fear the night
Alive

So let me remind you and invite you again
Awaken from your sleep

Salvation is here
The night is almost over

The day is near
And, His light, is the sun

That chases away even the darkest night
So breathe in salvation

Let Him fight the fight
Holy Spirit, Come Alive

Awaken us to life
