Even though we're hurting

The hardest part is facing the day because the pain doesn't seem to go away

I so long to say have you suffered from abuse
And kept it in for so many years to protect the ones you love?
Have you had missed sleep from the nightmares and panic attacks
And hurt yourself because you're haunted from the past?
But instead I keep my mouth closed
Because it's my life hidden from you
So keep your judgment in your black and white room
You'll keep on judging because you feel entitled
And I'll keep on healing because I care about my survival
Broken hearts are hurting all around the world, all around the world, all around the world We can fall apart
Just remember it's not a full stop it's a pause, take each day as it comes And I know you'll shine brighter than clouds of judgment with no substance at all
When you say it's all in your head
If I broke my leg would you neglect to take me to the hospital to get it checked?
Just because you don't see it doesn't mean it's not there
You can't see your heart outside does it mean it's not there?
And don't you know you break my heart when you invalidate what I've been through
I'll ignore you
