It's 2020, glad to have made it
I look around, all I see is a bunch of snakes and
What's been buggin' me in my mind, feel like I can't escape it

Started dealing with depression since 05
Made a lot of confessions to Adonai
Used to get a lot of messages, now my phone dry
Probably cuz I been connectin' with the most high

I know why the visual perception can be deceptive
In this freezing, cold world I've always been a skeptic
Growing up, been judged, by many was hardly accepted
Can't tell you how many times my heart's been tempted

But I always stay on guard, I'm always defensive
And I'm killin these bars, & I ain't even got no weapon
I remember once got charged for bein so reckless
Remember I had to starve, couldn't even eat breakfast

From the truth their hearts & minds are far, their ways are senseless
& they're so careless, it's why I always end up friendless

Used to get made fun of since elementary
Now most of y'all are stuck up & dead to me
& I'm on the come up, & I'm meant to be

I remember when the deputy asked me what happened to me
When I was blackened and beat on the line servin meat
I felt trapped in between, couldn't feel the ground or my feet
& I just frowned, I felt weak, that I allowed the defeat
Wish I could've mouthed it was me
Felt like goin down on my knees
Thoughts so loud I had to leave
Wish it was all make believe
Wish you would all just believe
There's more to life, hope you see
There's more to life than quarantining
