"Axel F" is an electronic instrumental by German musician Harold Faltermeyer. It served as the theme for the 1984 film Beverly Hills Cop, starring Eddie Murphy, and became an international number one hit in 1985. The track reached number one in Ireland as well as on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart. Additionally, it was a number two hit in Belgium, Canada, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the UK, and West Germany. Faltermeyer recorded the song using five instruments: a Roland Jupiter-8 provided the distinctive "supersaw" lead, a Moog modular synthesizer 15 provided the bass, a Roland JX-3P provided chord stab brasses, a Yamaha DX7 was used for the marimba sound, and a LinnDrum was used for drum programming. According to Faltermeyer, the initial reactio… more »

Oh Yeah, let's bring it back with a little Ol' school Hip Hop, yeah
Now this is a true story about my drive to perform and my need to feel free
Have brought me to many places, one would only dream to see
Flowing through mediums while riding ingenious weapons
A fortunate fools tale of numerous scares and triumphs
Now check it

First time, falling, my worst nightmare
Plunging through, destination nowhere
An unexpected dive
Suspended in time
For a second, everything seemed fine
But the hit came hard, oeehw!
Black Out!
Dead flat bottom, somehow I walked out
Intimately knowing that I got away with my own murder

Second time Woof!
That deafening echo
That ya'all mountain riders grow to fear
No chances or excuses to a-raise
Through a white matter wave
Tumbling from the heavens into a concrete grave
Upside down and twisted
Now praying, someone to save

Cold blood rushing
Slowing my heart rate
Time stood still
No breath, no space
Help is near
Gotta last a little longer
Cold blood rushing
Shhhhh, whoa!
Bright lights! Many Thanks Kurt!

8 Lives up!
8 Lives up!
Bring it up, Bring it down
Live it up, I can't get enough
Bring it down, Bring it up
Live it up, cause my time ain't done

Third time, walking a ridge
Crack! falling through
Suddenly by a thread i m hanging on
Am I really that accident prone?
Inahelating thoughts of a safe zone

Fourth time
Contemplating the perfect ski line
Terrain features so sublime
Ro-Cham-Bo, crushed by the rock
Sadly, last one to drop

Woof! Another black surprise
Through this wild ride I shall drive
The tip of the spine, only option, rare
Stopped me without an inch to spare, over the abyssal scare

Fifth time
A beauty day on a familiar face
Skied with familiar speed
Sweeping turns with grace
G Forces to increase, indeed

Knee popped out, now gotta correct the turn
Rock approaching, I must adjurn
Hit! 100 Klicks per hour
Tumbling, til my other knee can't power
Train wreck, ample pain to devour
Ewwh!

Gotta summarize, for the purpose of this song
So ya' all get a glimpse, for my life to prolong

Sixth time
While leading a rock climb
Protection, i'm hopeful to find
Call for rope, while standing on a dime, everything seemed fine
Slowing of time

Slip! With lots of rope slack
Gravity, to control my fall track
Rope catch! Yet again, so punctual
Terra firma, my inverted visual

Seventh time
A bad decision
Driven, morality's jurisdiction
Anger, towards the unfair
A cancer, no longer left to pair

Taken into my own hands I shall repair
Kicked his ass out, no energy to spare
But the vibe reversed, eewww, so unfair
To awaken to a scalpel's glare

Eight time
Ready for the next showtime?
Moved awkwardly
The steering corner to catch my knee
Sent me on an immediate boat flee

Split second, I landed on my neck
About 4 feet of the deck
Split second, Got me pinned and checked
Hopefully the last great unexpected wreck

8 Lives up!
8 Lives up!
Bring it up, Bring it down
Live it up, I can't get enough
Bring it down, Bring it up
Live it up, cause my time ain't done
No it ain't done!
8 Lives up!

Yes, this is my therapy
Clean cuts, without blasphemy
Yes, every dreadful experience
Although low on convenience

Has shaped my personality
Complete, much rationality
All high times bring true gratefulness
All set backs, much thankfulness

For Mr. Grim to yet again
let me slip on his calculus
However my deep subconsciousness
Repeatedly reminds me these vigorous
Life altering events so serious

8 Lives up rings a loud bell of thoughtfulness, yes!
Now Older, hopefully much wizer, but still curious
Still can't help my sharpened awareness
Constantly reminding me that I am: 8 lives up!

8 Lives up!
Yes I am: 8 lives up!
