Jesus taught the people, about the one Good Shepherd he told
Of how he would protect them from the wolves and from the cold
And if one out of the hundred strayed from the fold
He would search until he found it and bring it safely home

I was a lost and wretched sinner; my life was fading away
I thought there was no hope for me, too far that I had strayed
Then I called upon that Good Shepherd, and he heard my cry that day
And the chains of sin were broken; that was the day that I got saved!

And I know that Jesus saved me, with his love and mercy found me
And I believe he kept on searching, even though I was gone so long
I can see the saints rejoicing with the angels around God's throne
All because just one of his lost sheep found its way back home!

Friend, it you're lost and dying in sin and misery
Just call upon the Savior; the blood he shed will set you free
You can have a testimony of joy and victory
I know he will deliver you, because he did the same for me!
