Well it was a very sad day one day
And someone got shoved out of love in the usual way
Bit of a weird situation though
Didn't know whether to wish 'em back or wish 'em dead, y'know
"I'll sleep on it and decide tomorrow" they said
So tomorrow came
And tomorrow came again
Still the same
And another, and another, and another load more
Pretending they really had somethin' to wait for
And things got real bad, like really bad
And they just wanted to scream like...
And so they spent the next week or so,
In a dark, dark place no one dared to go
Their little room with the lights all off
Trying and trying to shake them off
But that beautiful face just didn't wanna leave 'em alone
Felt just like the whole wide universe
Kept squeezing where it really hurt

They said, completely out of their mind
"There's plenty more fish in the sea, yeah sure
But I don't think I can swim no more
It's looking like I'll never be able again"
Still, morning by morning, bit by bit
Who knows how, But they handled it
And after all that, things worked out
And they told their friends they never had a shadow of doubt
But you didn't have to be much of a genius to figure it out
It was such a complete lie
But who cares, doesn't matter anymore
Gonna get me somebody to die for
Cause someone turned the lights back on
