Live a fairly normal life
Boring and mundane
But I constantly think
And it makes me sore
What if the freedom that we live and die for
All comes crashing down on me
And so I go online and read societal commentary
And I just wanna scream my goddamn lungs out
Thinking all about what those in power do
So tell me how much longer should I be so angry
To the point where it pleases you
Now I
See injustice in this world
Caused by someone else
But who is to blame
For all this mess
Some say it's the one percent or communists
And some say that it's people just like me
That's when I get back online and post societal commentary
And I still wanna scream my goddamn lungs out
Thinking all about what those in power do
So tell me how much longer should I be so angry
To the point where it pleases you
In the thunderdome of words
Just a swing state away from the absurd
And all the dissonance I feel
My therapist says is not real
Societal commentary
It is the duty of the worker to uproot their position
In the capitalist society in which they are living
Pull yourself up by your bootstraps
Pound the pavement, you can do that
What have you done to amplify the voices of
Gay black indigenous trans women of color
The Democrats are coming for your Second Amendment rights
The Liberals are coming for your freedom
Don't know how much longer I can scream my lungs out
Thinking all about what those in power do
So tell me how much longer should I be so angry
To the point where it pleases
The mob and my Jesus
But most of all I hope this pleases you
