Tryna find something that I wanna try my hand at
So I gotta let it burn no Zantac
And the media is poison, anthrax
Too many thoughts my head is jam packed
Black lives matter to me that's obvious
But I guess it depends on the audience
I wanna be an example of godliness
So for basic rights I'm a lobbyist
And I don't wanna be a coward
And I hate that the government has this power
Y'all remember the Babel tower
I feel like we're in the final hours
Been fighting demons and I'm tired
Drank another Monster now I'm wired
Cursed the devil, he's a liar
Told him his hold on me expired
What is my legacy
How will I be remembered
Will they say I fought the good fight
Or gave up and surrendered
And what about my kids
Am I bein a good dad
Or will they say I worked too much and it felt like mom was all they had
I can't let it go down like that
That's one of my biggest fears
I don't wanna waste a single day let alone waste these years
To my family I love you
And nothing else matters
I'm trying to do the best I can
And write the best chapters

What am I afraid of

Since I was stationed on this planet my particular purpose to give and take love
On the surface at this point in my life I do okay
What would I say if I could write to myself at a younger age

I wish I could make you feel what I feel
Think of how far we could go
The impact we could bestow
With prior knowledge of who you're supposed to be without needing the time to grow
You could help the whole world do it
Maybe black lives could just matter matter of factly without the need for a movement
Well you couldn't change the blueprint
Maybe that's pie in the sky
But if you could change just one single heart or mind
We'd know that in due time our reflection would be respected as something that's unavoidable
Rather it'd be a blessing
