Waters rise and cities fall
Very little, none at all
Has to do with me or anything I’m doing

On a side street in the shade
Perhaps forgotten or waylaid
Watching afternoons melt into silent evenings

All that rises has to fall
Time will break down every wall
Now I wonder if the opposite is true

Because I’ve been down so long
And it may be where I belong
But I’d like a chance to climb and try something new
