A lifetime coming, and I still wanna keep running
A lifestyle stunning, I see the city lights cloud and the fog keep tumbling
My favourites did the same as me, they were like me, but they're not here anymore
And I'm searching for them and myself in every person that walks through the door
And it's one of those things when people leave, of course it hurts
And it's a problem everyone grieves, it's the curse of the earth we're on
But I'll keep scribbling my notes, trynna create a clear image in weird metaphors
Of who I am and who they were, it's my task, my Portraiture
My knuckles are scraped down the sides, I don't remember a time they weren't
My cousins from different worlds will find me lighting cigs
Trynna forget whilst it burns
Trynna stay warm this Christmas, the lights look pretty in the city
They always did, they always will
It's something about winter that seems to fill me

Life still led me on, cut ties when I felt something good for once in my life
So, up tonight, and I'm very aware my family don't like the poems I write
But it's what I do, the fish swim, the birds take flight

The distance of universe between where I am and where I've begun to rise
And I can feel it, it's so close yet so hard to find
