In 1948 after the end of World War II The United General Assembly adopted The Universal Declaration of Human Rights This historic document had participation of over 50 member states In it a consensus was reached As to the supreme value of the human person It represented the first global expression Of what many believe to be the human rights To which we are all inherently entitled The foundation of this document was built on freedom, justice and peace Reasons reasons why we need reasons at all Freedom freedom why we need freedom at all It's just what we got to do Justice justice why we need justice at all Peace across every nation, why we need peace at all It's just what we got to do In a world where we see everything Do we turn away once more Do we pretend nothing's happening Or do we fight against it all Yeh we know what we got to do We got to come together united for all Keep the promises made long ago What was true then is just as true now Stand up for human rights let everybody know Yeh we got to get up and do Freedom, justice and peace for all
