We were standing on the hill
Feelings always seem to spill
In the balmy summer air
In glorified days of rare

All the bush of mustard seed
Rolling down hills of tweed
Quite an idealistic scene
For an arguemental deed

Then I went and messed it all up
Then you went and you got messed up
That's where the split formed between us
Yeah I could feel it on the school bus

And I'm sorry for what I put you through
You know that's not what I wanted to meant to do
And I'm stupid, that's the truth
I'm sorry for all of the Antics I put you through

But you know you liked it
Saw how you tried to hide it
And you would even lie it
But still you would deny it

But you know you liked it
Saw how you tried to hide it
And you would even lie it
But still you would deny it

We were standing in the breeze
Ocean water to our knees
But the salt cut to our wounds
And with each passing wave
Comes a whole new day
Next time I'll be there for you

Then I went and messed it all up
Then you went and you got messed up
That's where the split formed between us
Yeah I could feel it on the school bus

And I'm sorry for what I put you through
You know that's not what I wanted to meant to do
And I'm stupid, that's the truth
I'm sorry for all of the Antics I put you through

But you know you liked it
Saw how you tried to hide it
And you would even lie it
But still you would deny it

But you know you liked it
Saw how you tried to hide it
And you would even lie it
But still you would deny it

Every time I see the stars
I remember how my mind traveled far
To other places, other faces
Never traces of the sun
To other places, other faces
Never traces of the sun

Now when I think how we've drifted so far
I realize I'll never be be right up to par
Oh, right up to par

'Cause late at night I loose my mind
To darkened things, harbored feelings
Guilt and grief never received
Anything to feel release

Next time I'll be there for you
