And I don't hate him but I'm grateful that he didn't have my custody
Plus the pains of my mother put tears in my eyes
She kept it a buck, that's why I'm never disguised
And I ain't wanna carry that weight
That's the reason why I had to escape
Shit, I had patterns to break!

Turning my back on every doubt that befriended me
Cuz still I shine thru any cloud that they sending me
Making the kind of music that resides in the inner me

And all these visions come to life right in front of me

At first, the motive was selfish
I did it cuz I could, I did it cuz I felt it
But somewhere along the way while I was wandering astray
And pondering if I would ever conquer, man, I contemplated ways
To make the most out of the gift that's in my hands
You see my peers were just kids, and they ain't understand
So while they fantasized about money, women and lambos
I dreamed about a life full of music and pianos
And while others booked flights for a summer at the keys
I spent day and nights of my summers by the keys
And if i wasn't playing music, I was praying on my knees
Cuz I wanted it so bad that I would die for this dream
I've cried, loved, lost and I've lied for this dream
But I strive until I arrive cuz I still believe that...
I could achieve, man, I rise from beneath
If they don't think that I'm the truth then they lie thru they teeth

I do this for my kin cuz I wanna make them proud
I do this for my KING, cuz of Him I'm well endowed
I do this for my nephews and my nieces
So when they dream, they could dream BIG
And not excuse it with a weakness
And I don't do this for credit, I do well with just a visa
Plus I ain't afraid to fail because my refuge is in Jesus

I know that my world gon' change from the moment I release this!
I may be wide, but my soul's athletic...
That's why everything I made has been copacetic
The shit they playing on the radio is so pathetic
I don't even listen in on this whole pandemic
I only hear from those with soul and those that get it
Those that know the role of music and those that bred it...
Or those that show the globe that we won't develop
Into folks that put their hopes in soulless endeavors!
