Outer Darkness

In Christianity, the "exterior darkness" or outer darkness is a place referred to three times in the Gospel of Matthew (8:12, 22:13, and 25:30) into which a person may be "cast out", and where there is "weeping and gnashing of teeth". A garish life set along the path
Once walked in shame
Little more than exploited muscle
Snared by tragedy
The land for the people
Movements betrayed
Peasants laid down their arms
Led to their graves
Day returns with sol unmoved
All that's left for me and you
Is a final taste of dirt and our
Marrow left to ooze
Unmarked graves below your feet
Ashen ghosts of the sunken heap
Century after century, awoken again
By the pampered fold of creation
