I feel powerless sometimes
Like, everything's being taken away
I've come to learn that everything is temporary
That doesn't bother me so much as anticipation does

I see a man fighting demons
But I'm no soldier
I see a broken lover
But I'm no Cupid
I see a man in his death bed
But I'm no doctor
I see a woman taken away from her family
But the family's out of reach
I sit and watch as flames consume me and glass shards graze my skin

I may be speaking in tongues, but this is my reality for the past three or so years
I'm not looking for sympathy, and I'm sure others have it worse
Generally, I do pretty well for myself
But, more than anything or anyone, I hate this feeling of being powerless

Well, I guess I'll have to make a difference in peoples' lives
