I woke early this morning, my whole world had changed 
A cloud of confusion had cleared 
Thoughts that were jumbled now stand arranged 
And I don't recall what I feared
Oh, at times I been lazy and yes I've complained 
And I've called for more in my pay 
But when I woke this morning I burned all I'd blamed 
And my new life has started today

So rarely did schooling or life education 
Teach me that I could achieve 
Any goal, dream or passion, any plan or invention 
That I am free to believe 
So I learned I was normal and to stand in the line 
And to do things the practical way 
But when I woke this morning my thoughts were all mine
