John Mahlon Ogden (November 5, 1897 – November 9, 1977), was a Major League Baseball pitcher. He played five seasons in the majors, between 1918 and 1932, for the Cincinnati Reds, New York Giants, and St. Louis Browns. He played several seasons with the then minor league Baltimore Orioles, became a baseball executive and a scout after his retirement and is a member of the International League Hall of Fame. more »

Well my children are all raised to have children of their own
And now it's just me and my lover left in our mobile home
And I am so amazed by how I have grown
I built a life off of loving and hard work alone

Kindness for others is what I always like to say
I teach it to my grandchildren and hope with them it'll stay
I cook them good meals and take a photo every holiday

Well the ones that knew her best were the ones to say so long
Now I pray more than anything that I'd never done her wrong
And somehow she finds her way into all of my songs
