Fountainhead

The Fountainhead is a 1943 novel by Russian-American author Ayn Rand, her first major literary success. The novel's protagonist, Howard Roark, is an intransigent young architect who battles against conventional standards and refuses to compromise with an architectural establishment unwilling to accept innovation. Roark embodies what Rand believed to be the ideal man, and his struggle reflects Rand's belief that individualism is superior to collectivism. Roark is opposed by what he calls "second-handers", who value conformity over independence and integrity. These include Roark's former classmate, Peter Keating, who succeeds by following popular styles but turns to Roark for help with design problems. Ellsworth Toohey, a socialist architecture critic who uses … more »

And in the end
My journey brought me to a gigantic, frozen landmass
At the southermost edge of the planet
When my ship hit the ice it cracked the hull and started to sink
I had no choice but to jump out
Onto the ice
I started walking, hoping to find some sign of civilization
Up ahead I saw the ruins of a temple
But nobody was there, just a family of hungry penguins
One of them approached me
And I don't know if I was just hallucinating from extreme cold or what
But he spoke to me
He said
"People only come here when they're lost"
I told him I was following my map, but the glaciers got me disoriented
And that's when he asked me if I knew what ANTARCTICA stands for
I told him I didn't
He said "Actual Navigation Takes Another Route Cause The Ice Cause Alterations"
And then he went back, by the foot of the temple
And sat in lotus posture
I asked him how he learned about meditation
And he said a group of Buddhist monks had come to show them the end of suffering
I asked him if he had found the end of suffering
And all the peguins began to chant
They said

Om Mani Padme Hum

If this is your first time hearing this you are about to experience something so cold man
My Antarctican Drift is so frozen
Frostbite in a flow, I go snowman
Snow drifting, 20 below ground zero
Rest In Peace to Breed, we breathe deep and breathe slow
In a world full of polarity
Burn my body over the ice, don't bury me
It's so easy to get lost in the weather
When the bills pile up and you can't get it together
When everybody is knockin your hustle but they don't know
That you're out here getting it and sometimes it's slow
So
Get in where you fit in and go for what you know
I'm proving that I can do it, to who
My own soul
I get some liquor whenever it gets cold
Throw on some Wu Tang
And barbecue in the snow

Om Mani Padme Hum

Don't take the wrong turn
Life is full of lessons we repeat until we learn
The Jewel is in the Lotus, the sword is in the ink
Samurai, decapitating rappers before they blink
Snowboarding on a beat, catching air, getting air
You say karma's a bitch, I say it's cold but it's fair
I was frozen in a block of ice for 6 years
Dayroom full of men shedding tattoo tears
And they don't count days, they count months and seasons
You steal freedom, f*ck your pledge of allegiance
Now that's borderline treason
But if you got a TDC number you know my reasons
And I'm on to the next iceberg slim with the tilted brim
What's my muthafuckin life worth
Unless I can find the right words
The only time to lay down is when you fight first

Om Mani Padme Hum

I'd like to thank y'all all for coming out tonight
It's not often we have visitors on the Ghost Ship
Usually it's just me and my beautiful queen
Floating the 7 seas in search of buried treasure
You've been a great crowd and we hope to see you again soon
Drop us a line sometime and maybe we'll all meet up with the Buddhist penguins
We can have a cup of gourmet coffee
And step to that ancient temple where we learn the Art of Living, and the Art of Dying
Somewhere in ANTARCTICA
Somewhere in ANTARCTICA
