Lady A

Lady A (previously known as Lady Antebellum) is an American country music group formed in Nashville, Tennessee in 2006. The group is composed of Hillary Scott (lead and background vocals), Charles Kelley (lead and background vocals, guitar), and Dave Haywood (background vocals, guitar, piano, mandolin). Scott is the daughter of country music singer Linda Davis, and Kelley is the brother of pop singer Josh Kelley. The band abbreviated the name to "Lady A" in June 2020 amid the George Floyd protests in an attempt to blunt the name's associations with slavery and the Antebellum South, causing a dispute with Black gospel singer Anita White, who had already been using that same name for more than 20 years. I wish somebody'd get married
Maybe even have a baby
Hope the home team finally makes
It all the way to state

Hell it'd even be a blessing
If somebody got arrested
Yeah, whatever it takes
To forget our heartbreak

How can I
Ever find somebody new
When they keep
Reminding me of you

I don't wanna be the talk of this town
The buzz at the bar, word going 'round
Like front-page news and it's too loud to ignore
Like we lit a match when we broke up
Now the little of what's still left of us
Is burning door to door
I don't wanna be the talk of this town anymore

Heard that I was going crazy
And that you've been drinking lately
Everybody's taking sides
Little lies in checkout lines

Oh, I pray
For some kind of distraction
Can we all just act like
Nothing ever happened

I don't wanna be the talk of this town
The buzz at the bar, word going 'round
Like front-page news and it's too loud to ignore
Like we lit a match when we broke up
Now the little of what's still left of us
Is burning door to door
I don't wanna be the talk of this town anymore
Oh, anymore

Maybe I could get over you
If you and I could be old news

Oh, I don't wanna be the talk of this town
The buzz at the bar, word going 'round
Like front-page news and it's too loud to ignore
Like we lit a match when we broke up
Now the little of what's still left of us
Is burning door to door
Oh, burnin', burnin', burnin'
No, I don't wanna be the talk of this town anymore
Whoa
No, I don't wanna, I don't wanna be
Oh, I don't wanna be, I don't wanna be the talk anymore
No, I don't wanna, I don't wanna be
No, I don't wanna be
I don't wanna be
No, I don't wanna be the talk anymore
Whoa
