I don't know about you
But I never throw away old shoes 
It's like living countless lives 
And then forgetting that you've even died

Remember that day when we all camped out
In that bush throwing fruits at the cars driving round 
Cause we didn't have our own but a day came soon 
When we hopped on wooden boards and rode them straight to the moon
Remember those nights we would sleep in the woods 
Cause we thought we'd all be screwed if our parents got the news 
That we've been drinking and smoking and god knows what 
We were thinking when we stuck, that bottle rocket up Brunner's butt

It's like traveling the world 
And forgetting all the stories you were told 

And when you're old but you don't know 
You have no stories left to go  
So you'll just sit there waiting 
For the wind to come and blow you away

Remember those days when we all jammed out 
In that musty little basement cause we had no doubts
That we'd be swimming and singing in a sea of gold 
Cause our show at the preserve became a story to be told   
Remember those nights when we'd suddenly crave 
A cup of fries from that shack so we drove hours away 
Just to sit for a moment and stare into the stars   
While we all wondered how we even had the luck to make it that far 

There is the tear from when I slipped off the ledge  
And the hole that was poked by the glass and that was left
And the lace that got caught on that barbed wire gate  
Which we only climbed over cause McDonald's was closing at 8

Remember those days we'd be stuck in our rooms 
On our phones watching youtube there was nothing else to do 
Cause that stupid little virus had to ruin all our moods 
But it gave us some time at least to look through our old sweaty shoes
