Generation conversation is a language that I lack
Where old timers and story rhymers tend to take me back
To the good ole days with real life plays and camping was in a tent
Gas was cheap kids played in the street and pop was only ten cents

Oh the stories that they told me 
Of all the heartbreak and the glories
Made me wonder what I'll tell when I'm of that age
While my stories go unwritten all my life I have been sitting
Reading story lines displayed on my Facebook page
So much for good ole days
So much for good ole days

So let's go back now to when why or how wasn't something that we said
We trusted all our friends whether black or red all we could see was that they were kids
Back when boys play ball and dads were tall and I'm not talking bout their height 
Now a dad can't sit for ten minutes without starting up a fight

Oh the days where we look forward 
And the oceans had no borders
Oh the sun and sky they weren't so far away
Now our eyes are like the preface 
Only focused on the surface
When your story line is much more than a page
So much for good ole days

My life ain't done it's just begun 
So people let's get a grip
Instead of hate let's love and rise above all the things that are different
Let us look for hope and let's give grace we all seem to make the same mistakes
When we're old and torn and the skies are grey
Let's not praise the good ole days

Generation conversation is a language I don't have
My life is good I've got no regrets no need to take you back
The good ole days they still remain in the moments I've got left to live
My life's still going it's not done yet I don't have a story to give
